EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP AWARD
The IAD Exemplary Leadership Award [ELA] is the highest recognition that may be awarded to an administrative officer in active service within the IAD territory, who displays outstanding Servant Leadership Characteristics within the organization to which the leader is elected to serve.
Recipients of the Exemplary Leadership Award:
1. The award will honor a leader, recognized as having unwavering integrity and having demonstrated moral vision and the ability to translate that vision into specific goals.
2. The award is intended to focus attention to the increasingly critical role of ethics in the professional conduct of executing the duties of the administrative office to which the leader is elected to serve.
3. The Award is intended to reinforce servant leadership characteristics modeled by Jesus during His earthly ministry.
Persons who may qualify for such award are:
1. Local Fields Executive Officers (Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers)
2. Presidents or elected officers of institutions operated by the Division and Unions
3. Union Executive Officers (Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers).
Issuing of Award
The Award will be issued to recipients annually or bi-annually at the Division Mid Year Meeting or at a duly organized Awards ceremony for the purpose.
Selection Process
1. Recipients for this award will be chosen based on a points system and will not be based on any competitive selection process.
2. The goal of the process is to have all executive officers within the organization qualified for the Exemplary Leadership Award.
3. An Exemplary Leadership Award Recipient Instrument will be utilized to collect relevant data on each leader.
4. The division will simply compute points to determine recipients.
5. Between 30 and 50 respondents will be randomly selected as participants to complete the Leadership Award Recipient Instrument on each leader. Respondents will be drawn from among employees and other stakeholders of the organization or institution served by the leader.
6. To be selected as a recipient for the award, the leader must score between 98 and 100 percent on the cumulative analysis sheet.
7. Each leader will have an opportunity to complete the Leadership Award Recipient Instrument on himself/herself.
